Educational Activities
  1. Educational Aid
  2. The rising financial burden in the education sector compels students to forego a complete study with an equipped resource. SMVS Sanstha has lent a helping hand to such students in their exigence.

In today’s era of high inflation, many students—from primary school through diploma, degree, or engineering programs—are forced to leave their studies because their families cannot afford the costs, and often must work instead of attending classes. To support these needy students, the institution provides academic financial assistance. Through its ongoing Educational Assistance Scholarship program, the organization has, for the past five years, awarded over ₹10 million rupees each year in tuition aid and essential textbooks to deserving students in need.

SMVS, with its partners, provides a service of fully subsidized and low-cost fees at its institution. For such students, the vision of HDH Swamishri has led the management not to reveal grantees’ financial concerns because it humiliates one feeling to study as a regular student.

Since 2008, SMVS has supplied textbooks, notebooks, and other resources to NGOs working for the welfare of orphans or disabled kids. SMVS equips Manthan, a hostel of disabled young girls, with educational materials every year.

In addition, SMVS holds an annual event to award and promote students of all grades who have excelled in their studies. Since 1991, Top Rank holders from each grade have been specially awarded on behalf of this event. However, we encourage others for their efforts with gifts. Awards these shining stars to kindle new vigor, enthusiasm, zeal, and inspiration for their bright future.

  3. Educational Institution
  4. SMVS believes knowledge is a vital necessity. Thus, we strengthen our educational institutions with advanced technology to provide modern education. Nevertheless, they are affordable to all classes of society at a par. We enriched our learning environment beyond the board specification. Expert staff, higher education, and recreational activities are at the center of this institution.

Until now, under the guidance of HDH Swamishri, SMVS Sanstha has built three major educational campuses. They are as follows:

Divine Life School, Inaugurated: In 2005, Address: SMVS Swaminarayan Mandir Vasna, Abjibapashri Marg, Vasna, Ahmedabad Swaminarayan Dham International School, Inaugurated: In 2006, Address: SMVS Swaminarayan Dham, Gandhinagar, Gujarat Divine Life International School, Inaugurated: In 2012, Address: SMVS Swaminarayan Mandir, Naroda, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

SMVS serves modern education with traditional care and cultural discipline. Thus, thousands of families become tense-free from the negative impact of contemporary culture on their kids. These educational complexes provide both mediums of English and Gujarati from junior kindergarten to higher secondary. Our educational institution supports an affiliation of a state board, central board, Cambridge affiliation, and ICSE/ISC board for the overall development of young individuals.

In this way, the above-stated institutions hold great significance from a social standpoint. No matter which corner of the world they go to, students who have graduated from these institutions carry ethical, traditional, constitutional, and humanitarian values and superior education. Therefore, this tremendous work of SMVS is an outstanding contribution to the educational field since thousands of students build bright and prosperous careers from here.

  5. Gurukuls
  6. Gurukuls is a unique combination of education, culture, and spirituality.

The current era leans the people toward the imitation of modern culture. As a result, one becomes intelligent and sharp. On the other hand, its negative impact on addiction, adultery, luxurious lifestyle, and family freedom is more prevalent across all age groups.

It is an exigence to resurrect our ancient Gurukul systems with modern standards. This ancient approach molds a child’s life on good virtues, tradition, and devotion. SMVS Gurukuls is a residential hostel working on such an approach. Gurukuls strives to create the ideal life for attendees.

We organized various activities for the overall development of students under the guidance of HDH Swamishri and the leadership of sants. We enhance spirituality in students through personal preaching, morning assemblies, group assemblies, religious trips, and other activities. Along with their education, we host extra-curricular activities like visiting social and historical places, celebrating Teacher’s Day, and community cleanup.

As children are the future of society, their parents should be attentive and concerned. For this, parent meetings, conferences, and other activities are held every year to raise awareness about their child’s career. Sants also visit their homes for Padhramanis.

SMVS Gurukul pursues to enlighten the new lamps by shaping their liturgical life cycle. Moreover, we organize diverse training to bloom and hone various talents and skills in students. On top of this, different training camps are scheduled for the personal development of these students. As mentioned earlier, a young plant can cultivate in any way one wants; hence, the gurukul continuously organizes special cultural development and instilment activities.

  7. Godhar Gurukul – Gurudev Bapji’s Educational Inspiration Centre
  8. This “Trivenī Sangam” of education, satsang, and cultural values—modeled on the ancient gurukul system—was created so that its benefits can reach even the most marginalized segments of society. In 2019, during Gurudev Bapji’s Divyañjali (divine tribute) ceremony, Guruji Swamishri announced this initiative. Under it, children from Adivasi (tribal) communities in the Panchmahal region—especially girls in need—receive completely free, high-quality education and valuable life lessons. Located in a serene spiritual environment in Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat, this sankul truly embodies the motto “Vidyadan, Mahadan” (Gift of Knowledge, Great Gift). By sponsoring even one student in this great yajña of free education, you become a partner in this Bhagiratha-like effort.

Annual cost to sponsor one boy: ₹50,000

Annual cost to sponsor one girl: ₹50,000

  9. Girls Gurukul
  10. Swaminarayan Dham Girls Gurukul is a dedicated service center for women’s upliftment—an educational pilgrimage where learning, values, and holistic development converge. A person’s true identity and worth are shaped by virtuous qualities, and those virtues must be nurtured from childhood when the mind is as tender as a young sapling. With this in mind—and to guide the nation’s precious next generation toward culture and character—Gurudev Bapji and Guruji Swamishri founded the Swaminarayan Dham Girls Gurukul in 2011, exclusively for girls. It is situated on the peaceful grounds of Swaminarayan Dham in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

In our technological age, accessing higher education is relatively easy—but living a life of integrity, imbued with values and satsang, while pursuing advanced studies is rare and yet essential. To meet this need, Swaminarayan Dham Girls Gurukul offers young women an exceptional environment under the guidance of renounced women saints. Alongside a rigorous academic curriculum, students engage in co-curricular activities, health and wellness programs, environmental stewardship, arts and skills workshops, leadership training, skill-strengthening courses, expert-led seminars, and regular parent-education sessions.

Thousands of girls have lived on campus, excelled academically, and prepared for successful careers—emerging as committed young women, exemplary citizens, and future leaders. They carry forward refined values—discipline, humility, discernment, integrity, truthfulness—and cultivate deep respect and lifelong service toward parents and elders. They also reinforce cultural virtues in dress, behavior, speech, and self-control. Through this comprehensive formation, each student develops the inner resources to lead a life of high ideals and to spread those virtues throughout family, community, nation, and world.

In reaffirming Gurudev Bapji’s vision, in 2019 Guruji Swamishri offered heartfelt homage at Gurudev’s divine feet—the Swaminarayan Dham Girls Gurukul would thereafter provide all students with free education plus full boarding and lodging facilities.

  11. Chhatralaya
  12. College campuses today expose young people to many distractions. To safeguard India’s youth, Gurudev Bapji initiated the SMVS Chhatralaya at Swaminarayan Dham in 2016. Approximately 80 students reside and study here. The hostel offers a range of programs for holistic growth: spiritual assemblies, personal satsang, skill trainings, educational field visits, and satsang camps. Beloved Guruji Swamishri and the saints give individual attention to each student. Festivals and internal campaigns teach responsibility, ideals, while periodic parent-meetings keep families engaged. Through SMVS Chhatralaya, students receive far-sighted guidance and an all-rounded development.
